Eidos Interactive has announced that Death Jr.: Root of Evil is to be released for Wii this summer. It’s based on the PSP game of the same name and features improved visuals and new Wii-specific controls.

Developed by Backbone Entertainment, the game will see players taking on the role of the Grim Reaper’s teenage son who, with a group of wacky friends, fights his way across a series of crazy locations.

The game begins when Death Jr. and his friend Pandora accidentally release an evil and powerful spirit called Furi. It’s then up to the pint-sized reaper to stop Furi and her hordes of minions.

Players will also be able to team up with a friend, taking control of both Death Jr. and Pandora to tackle the game’s 19 levels cooperatively.

Death Jr.: Root of Evil is set for release in summer 2008 on Wii.
