Carcassonne, based on the board-game of the same name, begins with an empty landscape and a single square tile. Then a turn-based game for up to five players unfolds, taking turns selecting from 72 tiles displaying various features of a city (including roads, walls of a castle and fields). With each turn the medieval countryside evolves with towns, roads and farms being formed.
The winner is the player who accumulates the most points by the end of the game, and will no elimination every player can compete until the end.
Play either alone against variable AI opponents, or against real opponents – online with up to five players or single console games for up to four players. Online play is enhanced with full support for voice and video chat.
As usual for an Xbox LIVE Arcade title, the game features 200 Gamerscore points and 12 Achievements.
