The Resident Evil 6 development team is aware of the game’s faults and is currently working on fixes during the game’s final weeks of development, producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi has told IGN.
“There were certain things that gamers felt stressed about, one of the main concerns was the camera,” said Hirabayashi. “We decided that was one thing we had to fix, that we had to work on that camera – we’re actually working on that right now. We want to make sure that camera doesn’t interfere with your gameplay experience.”
Screen tearing was also a big problem with the Xbox 360 version of the demo, which Hirabayashi says will be tweaked up “until the last minute”. He remained upbeat about the overall quality of the final product: “There are things we wanted to try with Resident Evil 6, to show players what we’re trying to do.
“We’re trying to bring them a new experience, and hopefully they’ll give it a chance. Hopefully when they give the full game a chance, they’ll have a better understanding of what we’re trying to accomplish.”
Resident Evil 6 will launch worldwide on October 2 on PS3 and Xbox 360. A PC version is expected sometime late 2012.
