HoYoverse has announced that Genshin Impact Version Luna VII, titled Truth Amongst the Pages of Purana, will launch on May 20, bringing with it a new Archon Quest, three new playable characters, and what sounds like another full-blown national crisis for players to clean up when really they were only logging in for dailies.

The headline addition is the new Sumeru storyline, which sees the nation of wisdom thrown into chaos after Nahida falls into a mysterious slumber. As if that wasn’t enough of a problem, a new enemy appears who bears an uncomfortable resemblance to Il Dottore, despite the fact he was believed to be gone. That immediately pulls Collei, Ibis King Thoth, Nicole, and other familiar faces into the mess.

Players who complete the new Archon Quest during the limited-time period can earn up to 560 Primogems, along with Nicole’s Ascension Materials. The quest will also unlock a new Weekly Boss, described as a formidable foe with unpredictable abilities and the power to summon devastating forces. Because apparently “weekly chores” in Teyvat now include being flattened by nightmare fuel.

Version Luna VII also introduces Nicole Reeyn, the first playable member of the Hexenzirkel. Nicole is a 5-star Pyro Catalyst user and a support-focused character who can boost party ATK, provide shielding, and summon an Arcane Projection through her Elemental Burst. That projection follows the active character and triggers Coordinated Attacks based on their Elemental Type. Outside combat, Nicole can use her Charged Attack to summon a Seelie that guides her toward nearby treasure, which is exactly the sort of lazy treasure hunting I support.

Joining her is Lohen, Vice Captain of the Knights of Favonius’ Fifth Company. He arrives as a 5-star Cryo Polearm user built around two resources, Joy and Will to Win. His kit revolves around entering a Masterstroke state, building resources, and using them to deal heavy Cryo damage. His Story Quest will also dig into a previously untold chapter of the Knights of Favonius.

The third newcomer is Prune, a 4-star Anemo Catalyst user and self-proclaimed Witch Hunter certified by Alice. She uses a bell and giant hammer to trigger Swirl reactions, which is certainly one way to conduct magical pest control.

Nicole and Prune arrive in the first half of the Luna VII Event Wishes alongside a Durin rerun, while Lohen joins in the second half with Mavuika returning. The update also adds a Klee-themed Little Hexenzirkel event, new rewards, Miliastra Wonderland updates, and expanded Kamera options when Luna VII launches on May 20.
