The Diablo series will celebrate thirty years of demon slaying with the Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight on February 11, 2026. The show will likely heavily focus on the upcoming Lord of Hatred expansion for Diablo 4, as well as some updates to Diablo Immortal.

Not only will Lord of Hatred introduce some more story quests to Diablo 4 (something the game sorely needs), but it’ll also add the new character class, the Paladin. However, the Paladin may not be the only new character class joining the fight against Diablo and Mephisto.

During the Diablo 4 Season 12 public test realm, some eagle-eyed Redditors spotted some datamined files that refer to another character class known as the Warlock. The datamined information shows the Warlock alongside the Paladin, implying a connection between the two and that they will potentially join the ranks together.

While Diablo 3, 4, and Immortal have tended to release new character classes solo, Diablo 2 introduced the Druid and Assassin as part of the same expansion, The Lord of Destruction. Could Blizzard do something similar for The Lord of Hatred?

The Paladin class is returning from Diablo 2 and has a lot in common with Diablo 3 and Immortal’s Crusader. Both are holy warriors who use their faith and martial prowess to battle demons, but much less is known about the Warlock.

The art shows a shadowy caster with a dark blade, suggesting the class will be a battlemage and a cross between the Sorcerer and Rogue classes. However, nothing is known for certain.

Unlike the Paladin, the Warlock would be a brand new class, having not appeared in any older Diablo games

Of course, take everything with a pinch of salt until Blizzard formally confirms a new class. Until then, let’s get ready for all the exciting announcements that Diablo’s 30th Anniversary Spotlight could bring.
