Tokyo Scramble (developed by Binary Haze Interactive) is a survival horror game set in the ruins under Tokyo, where dinosaurs, known as Zinos, prowl and hunt the player. The game was revealed during the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase on Thursday, February 5, 2026, and looks to be a blend of Alien Isolation and Dino Crisis.

Players control Anne, who’s trapped in the world beneath Tokyo and must sneak past the Zinos, learn their movements, and outfox them to survive. The game contains no combat. If Anne is spotted, she needs to escape or become dinosaur food, so stealth is key.

While stealth-based survival horror games have been done to death, Tokyo Scramble stands out for using dinosaurs as its primary monsters, which is rare in the genre and was famously done by another famous franchise: Dino Crisis

Dino Crisis was originally released on PS1 and saw Capcom use the Resident Evil formula, but with dinosaurs – and like it’s zombied cousin, Dino Crisis was an effective survival horror game. It received a more action-heavy sequel on PS1, and a third game on Xbox that was critically panned, effectively killing the series.

While Dino Crisis has become a legendary horror title in the decades since it was released, Capcom has never returned to the franchise. However, some fans are hopeful that it will when the company inevitably runs out of Resident Evil remakes, but this is far from guaranteed.

Hopefully, Tokyo Scramble will show Capcom that dinosaurs can be scary, and we can finally get the prehistoric survival horror game we’ve been waiting for. Who knows, this may even be it.

Tokyo Scramble releases on Switch 2 on 11 February 2026 and can be pre-ordered now.
