We haven’t seen anything official from WWE 2K26 yet, but we previously caught a glimpse of the game’s logo thanks to wrestler Xavier Woods on Instagram. That tease wasn’t particularly exciting, as it simply used the modern WWE logo that the company has adopted since 2014. However, a recent Logan Paul vlog has now provided a new tease for WWE 2K26, featuring the classic “scratch logo,” fueling speculation about a nostalgic Showcase mode.
The “scratch logo” is the iconic hand-drawn WWF logo with a red slash underneath, first introduced in 1997 during the Attitude Era. It was later altered to “WW” in 2002 due to trademark issues with the World Wildlife Fund. The WWE 2K series hasn’t used this old-school branding since WWE 2K14, making its appearance in Logan Paul’s vlog, as spotted by fans on Reddit, particularly notable.
Fans are speculating that the revival of the scratch logo could hint at a nostalgic Showcase mode focused on either the Attitude Era, which ran from November 1997 to May 2002, or the Ruthless Aggression Era, which lasted from 2002 until WWE’s transition to the PG Era in 2008.
Showcase is an annual mode that explores WWE’s history dating back to its WWF roots in 1979. It typically recreates historic matches using a mix of gameplay, archival footage, and interviews with wrestling talent. WWE 2K25’s Showcase mode focused on The Bloodline, narrated by Paul Heyman, and featured a lineage of Samoan wrestlers ranging from The Rock and Roman Reigns to Yokozuna and Umaga.
There’s no confirmation as to why the scratch logo appears in Logan Paul’s vlog, so any connection to Showcase mode remains purely speculative. However, as speculation goes, a Ruthless Aggression Showcase would be more exciting than another return to the Attitude Era.
A WWE 2K26 Ruthless Aggression Era Showcase would be more exciting
The Attitude Era has already been revisited extensively in WWE games. WWE ’13 featured a full Attitude Era Showcase, while WWE 2K16 focused on Stone Cold Steve Austin, the defining star of that period.
As a result, we have already replayed many of the era’s most iconic moments, including Shawn Michaels vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock and Austin’s WrestleMania trilogy, D-Generation X, and Mankind vs. The Undertaker inside Hell in a Cell.
A Ruthless Aggression Showcase would come with some limitations, such as not being able to use Edge, a WWE Hall of Famer currently under contract with rival promotion AEW. However, there is still a deep pool of talent 2K could focus on and that they are already permitted to use, such as John Cena, Triple H, Umaga, Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, and Batista, just to name a few.
The rumored cover star for WWE 2K26 is CM Punk. Although Showcase mode typically ties into the cover star, such as Roman Reigns and The Bloodline in 2K25, the cover star for 2K24 was Cody Rhodes, but its Showcase celebrated 40 years of WrestleMania.
For now, we have to wait and see what direction WWE 2K26’s Showcase mode takes. The game is officially slated to release before March 31, 2026, the exact date that the WWE 2K24 online servers shut down.
While little has been revealed about this year’s installment, El Hijo del Vikingo from AAA has seemingly confirmed that he has been scanned for the game. Torrie Wilson is also rumored to be joining WWE 2K26, according to a leaker who accurately revealed all of WWE 2K25’s DLC.
