Emboldened by the success of Baldur’s Gate 3 and Clair Obscur Expedition 33, turn-based tactical RPG Solasta is back with a sequel, promising hours of fun modelled on the thrill and immersion of a TTRPG session. The original launched back in 2021, securing acclaim from both players and critics. Developer Tactical Adventures has been hard at work since piecing together the suitably titled Solata 2.
Fortunately, there’s not long to wait, with an early access launch just around the corner that will let you experience the game as it morphs into a fully fledged 1.0 release. In the meantime, here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming turn-based tactical RPG, Solasta 2.
- Solasta 2 is set to launch in early access on Steam for PC on March 12, 2026.
- The game is a turn-based tactical RPG modelled on the TTRPG of the same name and will follow the D&D SRD 5.2 ruleset.
- Developer Tactical Adventures aims to keep the game in early access for up to one year, releasing regular updates to flesh out Solasta 2 with new content, integrate community feedback, and provide tweaks and polish as necessary.
Solasta 2 release date

Solasta 2 is currently scheduled for release on March 12, 2026, meaning there’s not long to wait to sample what Tactical Adventures has cooked up for its highly anticipated sequel.
The game will release first in early access before hitting 1.0 further down the line, initially giving players access to Act I with a max level cap of four, six classes, and four ancestries to choose from, and access to a portion of the world map.
According to the Steam page, Tactical Adventurers aims to stay in early access for up to a year to “adjust and polish the content” based on community and player feedback.
Early access will feature several major updates, including online co-op, QoL improvements, tweaks, new classes and ancestries, and fresh locations, monsters, and quests.
In the meantime, there’s a free demo up for grabs over on the official Solasta 2 Steam page if you’re keen on giving it a go before early access begins.
Solasta 2 gameplay and story

Much like the original, Solasta 2 is a turn-based tactical RPG set in a fantasy universe, matching standout genre entries such as Baldur’s Gate 3 in that respect.
Players will create and guide a party of four adventurers before being let loose in the continent of Neokos to face the Shadwyn, a shadowy force intent on unleashing a tide of corruption on the land.
The game aims to faithfully recreate the D&D SRD 5.2 ruleset, channeling the familiarity of the TTRPG experience.
Leaning heavily on the tagline “You make the choices, dice decide your destiny,” the game will see players take on quests, battle ferocious enemies, and explore the vast lands of Neokos at their own pace, all while untangling the story of a party of heroes in search of redemption.
Solasta 2 trailers
Four Solasta 2 trailers have been released to date, starting with the announcement trailer broadcast during The Game Awards 2024. Relying heavily on CGI, the trailer is a grim affair as we watch a woman walk towards a guarded bastion, corrupting the land as she steps forward.
Warning shots ward her away, but enraged, she channels a beam of purple energy that summons a force of hench, rocky soldiers who storm ahead. We catch a glimpse of Solasta 2’s world, enemies, and combat via a reel of quick gameplay snippets before the trailer ends.
This was followed up by the “Welcome to Neokos” trailer in October 2025. Think of it as a video brochure for a holiday destination, and you get the gist, except this time it focuses on the continent of Neokos, where Solasta 2’s story will unfurl. It offers a first look at the game’s setting with hints about the people, conflicts, faiths, and environments that will define the experience.
In December 2025, Tactical Adventures debuted the “early access date & cast reveal trailer, which pretty much does what it says on the tin. Aside from confirming the release date, it reveals that Devora Wilde, Ben Starr, Ellen Thomas, and Amelia Tyler form part of what’s shaping up to be a stacked cast. The trailer also briefly touches on the story that will run through Solasta 2.
Solasta 2 platforms

For its early access launch on March 12, 2026, Solasta 2 will be available exclusively on PC via Steam. There’s been no mention of other platforms, namely consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, to date, but there’s good news for those who can’t jump in on PC.
The original Solasta did ultimately land on Xbox machines a year after the full 1.0 PC release and then on PS5 three years after the PC launch. We expect the same with the sequel, although this hasn’t been confirmed, so take this with a pinch of salt for the time being. The timeframe may very well be different.
