Deadpool has been confirmed as a new hero in Marvel Rivals Season 6. The new season of the hero shooter is set to arrive on Friday, January 16, and is already one of the most hyped content updates. The addition of Deadpool has turned out to be the right move, even though his role has yet to be revealed.

Interestingly, NetEase has already added Deadpool, yet he remains unplayable. The hero will be unlocked in just a few more days, and the community has an interesting theory of what his role will be.

What is Deadpool’s role in Marvel Rivals?

When Deadpool was first added to the game, he was a Duelist (damage dealer). Considering that the game has many of these heroes, it was not a surprise. However, shortly after, NetEase changed Deadpool’s role to a Vanguard (tank) and later on to a Strategist (support).

While many players think that NetEase is simply trolling the community, there is another theory. This theory states that Deadpool could be the first fully hybrid hero in Marvel Rivals. In other words, he may be able to perform every single role.

The Marvel Rivals developer promised an even bigger content drop in 2026, and making Deadpool unique would undoubtedly make the game more popular. The player count has been steadily increasing since Gambit’s release in November 2025, giving NetEase an excellent opportunity to capitalize on the Merc With a Mouth and further increase the number of active players.

Deadpool’s reveal should take place on either Tuesday or Wednesday, a few days before the new season comes out. His gameplay video should reveal his role as well, putting an end to the biggest mystery in Marvel Rivals.
