New Dead by Daylight datamines have emerged following the release of Behaviour Interactive’s update 9.4.0 PTB on Steam. According to Dead by Daylight leaker Wazzup on the LeaksDBD subreddit, the game is set to bring back its Lunar New Year event while also debuting a new event called Fog Carnival.
No specific details are shared about either event, but Wazzup believes they are “purely event quests with special rewards.” The last Lunar New Year mini-event for Dead by Daylight was Moonlight Burrow in 2023, although Behaviour did release themed cosmetic collections in 2024 and 2025.
Lunar New Year is a celebration observed across much of Asia, marking the arrival of spring. This year’s celebration begins on February 17, so it’s likely the Dead by Daylight event will take place around that period.
As for Fog Carnival, Wazzup did not share any direct hints, but the event is believed to be thematically connected to the Brazilian Carnival. In February 2025, BeHaviour held a community event called Carna Névoa, which translates to “Carnival in the Fog.” That event rewarded players with a code for 300,000 Bloodpoints after the community reached a shared milestone.
Before either of these events transpires in February, there is still plenty happening in January. Michael Myers from Halloween is set to leave Dead by Daylight on January 19, while Stranger Things Chapter 2 is scheduled to release on January 27. Looking beyond February, only one chapter remains for Year 10. The upcoming leaked Survivor will arrive in March, and it is a cursed Samurai who is the father of Dead by Daylight Killer, The Oni.
