Thanks to a big change in late 2024, Epic Games may bring back old Battle Pass skins in Fortnite very soon. In case you missed the announcement, Battle Pass cosmetics are no longer exclusive. This means that Epic reserves the right to release them in the Item Shop, which may happen in just a few more months.

This will mark the first time that Fortnite players who missed out on a Battle Pass will have a chance to purchase those exact characters, as well as all the other cosmetics, directly from the Item Shop.

Old Battle Pass skins will return to Fortnite in 2026

In August 2024, Epic Games announced a significant policy change: items from future Battle Passes would no longer be gone forever once a season ended. Instead, players who purchase the seasonal pass only get early access to the cosmetics in it. They also get a great deal, as they can obtain all the items for only 1,000 V-Bucks.

Due to this change, Epic can bring back any item that was released in Chapter 5 – Season 4 or later. Since the Absolute Doom season came out in November 2024, its cosmetics may come to the shop starting on May 1.

The Absolute Doom season, which featured a heavy-hitting Marvel roster including Dr. Doom, Gwenpool, War Machine, and Shuri, was the very first season to fall under this new rule. Considering that many players missed out on iconic Marvel characters from the first collaboration season, it’s no surprise that Epic implemented a no-exclusivity rule.

It’s important to note that Epic doesn’t guarantee that older Battle Pass skins will return at some point, only that they can. Furthermore, each skin will likely cost at least 1,500 V-Bucks, which still makes the Battle Pass a fantastic deal.
