Dead By Daylight leaker Dvveet has been sharing a lot of leaks on X lately. They recently revealed cancelled Survivors, including a female wrestler likened to WWE’s Rhea Ripley, and now they are reporting that Friday the 13th’s Jason is coming to DBD as a Killer.
Dvveet claims “Jason has been in steady production with Jason Universe since July 2024”. Jason Universe is an initiative and rebranding of Friday the 13th by Horror Inc. This rebranding from Horror Inc. is to avoid using the official Friday the 13th title because while Horror Inc. owns the rights to the character, Warner Bros./New Line Cinema owns the trademarks for the Friday the 13th title and the Jason Voorhees name, as explained by Deadline.
According to Dvveet, the initial pitch for a Friday the 13th chapter “consisted of a Killer only and themed Survivor cosmetics,” but it “could have grown since then”. Dvveet adds that BeHaviour is “not allowed to use the Voorhees name,” and “It’s not just a potential, [Jason] IS coming to Dead by Daylight”.
In a follow-up, Dveet says that Dead By Daylight will use the version of Jason that was “created specifically for Jason Universe”. The leaker also reports that BeHaviour was “encouraged to create original designs for [Jason] as skins, and a majority of his movie looks are not being pursued”.
Jason is one of the most requested Killers among Dead By Daylight fans. In October, Head of Partnerships at BeHaviour Interactive, Mathieu Cote, revealed that he “can’t talk about” the possibility of adding Jason, citing the legal complexities of IPs.
While Jason is a rumor, Stranger Things Chapter 2 will release in January. A 2026 roadmap leak has revealed the Stranger Things PTB date, as well as the date for the leaked March Survivor.
