The Game Awards’ final five contenders for the Players’ Voice category are revealed. AdHoc Studios’ Dispatch is one of the remaining nominees, but it is up against Clair Obscur Expedition 33, Hollow Knight Silksong, Genshin Impact, and Wuthering Waves.

Unlike the rest of The Game Awards’ categories, where votes are split 90% in favor of a selected jury of games journalists, the Players’ Voice winner is 100% decided by votes from the general public.

You need to log in to The Game Awards’ website using either your X, Facebook, Twitch, or Google profile in order to vote. The Players’ Voice winner will be revealed at The Game Awards on December 11, and you only have until 6PM PST/9PM EDT on December 10 to vote for the game you want to win.

Winning Players’ Voice will be tough for Dispatch

Winning the Players’ Voice award will be extremely tough for Dispatch thanks to the stellar competition. Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is the most nominated title in Game Awards history, and it already won Ultimate Game of the Year at the fan-voted Golden Joystick Awards.

Hollow Knight Silksong is hugely popular, too. It’s an incredible game that was highly anticipated for many years, resulting in it even breaking the Steam store at launch, thanks to millions of people trying to buy the game at the same time. It is nominated for Game of the Year, and, although developer Team Cherry expects Clair Obscur Expedition 33 to win, they have teased DLC for the future.

Perhaps the favorite to win is Genshin Impact. It has a history of winning the Players’ Voice award back-to-back in 2022 and 2023, before its streak was ended by Black Myth Wukong in 2024.

Dispatch is one of the best surprises this year. Unfortunately, the only other category it is nominated for is Best Debut Indie. This is likely because it was released late, with Episodes 7 and 8 concluding on November 12, just seven days before The Game Awards’ cut-off, November 19.

It boasts a near-perfect 9.5 rating from PS5 users on the PSN store, and it has received praise from peers within the video games industry. The Witcher 3 director has praised Dispatch as his Game of the Year, and both the Dispatch and Expedition 33 devs have tipped their hat to each other.

We would love to see Dispatch win the Players’ Voice award to atone for its lack of other nominations, but we will have to wait and see as Expedition 33, Hollow Knight Silksong, Genshin Impact, and Wuthering Waves are all viable contenders with a strong chance of winning.
