Developer The Farm 51 has announced that World War 3 will be deployed in Early Access on October 19, priced at $27.99.

The studio estimates that the first-person shooter will be knocking around in Early Access for around 12-15 months. However, there should be plenty of content to tuck into during this time, with new game modes, maps, weapons, and units in the pipeline.

World War 3 is set to release with two game modes: Recon and Warzone. The former sees players capturing multiple targets in what sounds like a team-focused battle royale experience, while the latter has infantry, armoured vehicles, and drones scrapping it out for fortified positions.

The Farm 51 has said that it is aiming for realism when it comes to World War 3, trumpeting 'accurate depictions of weapons, uniforms and equipment of national armed forces,' as well as maps that have been plucked from real-world locations including Berlin, Moscow, and Warsaw.

World War 3 will receive a price hike come full release, although all future DLC will be released free of charge.
