The growth of Blizzard’s World of Warcraft has continued with the official launch of the game in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. More than 800,000 people took part in the game’s beta period and now the game has been made available at retail and as a direct download from the official Taiwanese website. Several usage plans are in place with an unlimited account working out at around £8 per month.
Blizzard recently announced that World of Warcraft has surpassed 4.5 million customers worldwide, and has also launched six new realms: Azshara (player vs. player), Agamaggan (player vs. player), Lightninghoof (role-playing player vs. player), Malfurion (player vs. environment), Frostmourne (player vs. player with a GMT+11 time zone), and Khaz’goroth (player vs. environment also with a world clock set to GMT+11).
