At Microsoft’s Xbox 360 RPG Premiere 2008 press conference in Tokyo it has been announced that Namco Bandai’s Tales of Vesperia, in development exclusively for Xbox 360, is to be released in Japan on August 7, 2008.

The game’s debut will be supported by a new Xbox 360 hardware bundle that will include a copy of the game, a Premium Xbox 360 and a mystery bonus item. The set will be priced JPY 37,800 (£180).

North American gamers won’t have to wait for the usually slow localisation to take place, with Namco confirming an August release. Sadly the same isn’t true of Europe, where the game won’t be appearing on store shelves until 2009.

Tales of Vesperia producer Yoshito Higuchi also announced that a playable demo will be appearing on XBL Marketplace later this month, although presumably this won’t include European territories.
