Resident Evil Revelations 2’s producer Michiteru Okabe has said that he’s confident the next major Resident Evil game will “blow our minds” – despite claiming to know absolutely nothing about it.

“Unfortunately we work on Revelations and that’s kind of it,” Okabe told VideoGamer.com earlier this week while discussing the future of Resident Evil.

“We don’t really have a window into whatever else is going on. That would be a separate team and whatever that team is doing we’re confident that those guys are going to do something that’s going to blow our minds.

“We can’t wait to basically be there with you guys to find out whatever the heck that is.”

While Capcom has yet to announce plans for the future of the main series, it does have plans to launch episodic spin-off Resident Evil Revelations 2 late next month.

The new four-part series follows the story of Claire Redfield and Barry Burton’s daughter Moira as they attempt to escape a zombie-infested prison.

The last major Resident Evil title, Resident Evil 6, launched back in 2012, with an HD remaster of the original Resident Evil having released on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC last week.

Rumours of Resident Evil 7 first emerged in late 2013 after the game was spotted on the LinkedIn profile of a costume designer.
