GTA 5 remains a possibility for Xbox One and PS4, but the current focus remains on getting the current-gen version into stores, Rockstar Games has said.

Asked how Rockstar will handle the gamer transition from current to next-gen platforms, Benzie said: "We already have plans for what the next world holds in terms of missions, new content, clothes, apartments, for the next while. But we really want to see what people are playing, and we're putting a lot of effort into the back end, so we can keep an eye on exactly how long people are spending in deathmatches, races, and all the other modes - just to see what they're doing. And if we see any peaks anywhere, then we know where to concentrate our efforts.

"There's not a lot of data out there for us. There's very few games like GTA Online - so we'll play it by ear and see what the consumers want."

Asked again about next-gen, he added: "We'll get the current gen version out first and see what happens in the future."

And if you are picking up a current-gen version, Benzie says there's nothing between the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.

"This is probably the first game we've done where both platforms have been running in parallel," he explained. "There's very, very little difference in the development state of them both. They're both very similar. It would be hard to tell them apart."

GTA 5 will be released September 17, followed by GTA Online on October 1.

Of course GTA V will be coming to next gen consoles, nVidia have already 'sort-of' confirmed its comng to PC, and seeing as both next gen consoles are basicaly PC's in a box, it should be fairly easy to port the PC version over to next gen.

Also, there is too much potential profit in next gen, and R* can't afford to miss out - well they probably could 'afford' to miss out, but im sure they wouldn't want to. They have an opportunity to make a LOT of profit, first by releasing on current gen - they know that people will buy it on current gen if thats all its available on (if thats all they say it will be on), and a lot of fans will want it day one. Then after they have made a ton of money selling it on current gen, they then (maybe a couple of months later) annouce it for next gen, and of course people will buy it (again), because who wouldnt want to see GTA V on next gen...?

Personally i can't wait to see GTA V on next gen - if they can make GTA V look this good on current gen, it should look a whole 'nother level of awesome on next gen.

If you go by Wikipedia, Wii U is 8th generation alongside PS4, XBox One, OUYA, Steambox, GamePop and the GameStick.

Personally I think of Steambox as a PC, GamePop, GameStick and OUYA as Tamagotchi Keyrings and the Wii U as Generation 7.5.

What gen is the Wii U? It's obviously not current gen, since GTA IV isn't on it yet. And it's not next gen, since that's apparently PS4 and Xbox One. So what is it?
(Yes, I'm tired of being ignored.)
