Homefront: The Revolution has been delayed to 2016, Deep Silver has confirmed. The game had previously been due to arrive later this year.

The delay follows the game's transition to new developer Dambuster Studios last year, with work having originally started at defunct studio Crytek UK under THQ.

"Dambuster Studios are an extraordinarily talented group," said Deep Silver CEO Dr. Klemens Kundratitz. "We are giving the team every opportunity to turn Homefront: The Revolution into a best-selling title, and have set a 2016 release date to provide them the time they need to achieve this. You can expect to hear more about the game later this year."

"We are excited that Deep Silver's acquisition of the Homefront IP and assets from Crytek has allowed development of Homefront: The Revolution to continue with minimum disruption," added game director Hasit Zala. "The team here believes we are working on something truly special."

Earlier this year, Deep Silver promised that Homefront: The Revolution would not turn out to be "vapourware", with work now said to be continuing "at full speed" at the new studio.

The title is due to release on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac and Linux.
