Horror series Siren is not being revived on PlayStation 4 just yet, Sony has clarified, admitting that the game’s mention in a PlayStation Romania press release was a mistake.

Instead, Sony claims that Siren was the original codename for Tequila Works’ open-world adventure Rime, announced during its Gamescom press conference in August.

In a statement provided to IGN, Sony explained: “The listing for Siren was a mistake, it should have listed Rime. Siren was the working title name for Rime prior to its announcement at Gamescom 2013.”

Still, that’s not to say that Siren won’t return on PlayStation 4. Sony has released three Siren titles across PS2 and PS3, with the last game, Siren: Blood Curse appearing on PS3 in 2008.

PlayStation 4 launches in the UK today.
