A couple in China has sold their three children to pay for the cost of online games at Internet cafes, ABC news reports.

Li Lin and Li Juan, who initially met at an Internet cafe in 2007, sold their baby daughter for approximately £300, their first son for approximately £3000, and their second son for approximately £3000.

The couple was turned over to authorities by the mother of Li Lin after learning what her son and daughter-in-law had done.

Sanxiang City News states the couple did not know they were breaking the law.

MMOs made the news in China recently when it was revealed Chinese labour camp prisoners were forced to play online games to build in-game credit that could be traded for real world money.
