38 Studios, the developer behind Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, has hired two MMO veterans in what may be a ramping up of the development of the studio’s Amalur-based MMO.
John Blakely, previously of DC Universe Online and EverQuest II, has been hired as the company’s senior vice-president of development.
Mark Hanson on the other hand has been hired as senior vice-president of operations & business, having come from a background on Playwell and LEGO Universe Online.
38 Studios’ MMO has been in the works even prior to the development of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, going under the temporary production title Project Copernicus. Amalur itself has been said to function as a launching pad for the Massively game.
The Amalur MMO has no current release date.
