Controversial shooter Hatred, in which players take on the role of a man sick and tired of humanity so goes on a killing spree in New York, will release via Steam on June 1.

“For 99% it’s a final release date, as the game is almost complete at the moment, we’re on the final polishing stage,” said developer Destructive Creations on its website. “Fun fact is that we wanted to release it on May 19th, but our team will be occupied with playing The Witcher 3 at the time. :D”

A new trailer has also been released showing off more gameplay than has been seen before.

Hatred had been banned from going on sale via Steam with its Greenlight campaign being pulled. However, after a rethink Valve and Gabe Newell decided the game should be allowed. Newell even wrote a letter to the developer to apologise.
