New game takes to the field in summer 2005.
It has been a long time since the last Brian Lara cricket title, but the series is still one of the most entertaining recreations of the sport in videogame form. Codemasters has announced that the series hasn't been bowled out; it had merely gone for a drinks break. The new game is scheduled for release on PC, Xbox and PlayStation 2 this summer.
The new game will include a number of match modes, including One-Day Internationals, Test Matches, Double Wicket and historic clashes. If you need a bit of practice, get into the nets to make sure you are ready for the big match.
With support for up to four players, Brian Lara Cricket looks to be a great multiplayer sports game and allows players to come in and drop out whenever they like; perfect for a potentially tedious Test Match.
As you'd expect from a modern sports game, the sports look and feel has been captured brilliantly, with the style of the televised game being translated to the videogame. Commentary is also provided, with Jonathan Agnew, David Gower and Ian Bishop giving an authentic sound to the proceedings.
We'll have more on the game as the summer release date approaches. For now you can take a look at the official website for more details.
