PT-inspired survival horror Allison Road is back in development, creator Christian Kesler has confirmed.

Kesler first announced the news to IGN, where he revealed that he would continue to work on the game under a new label co-founded with his wife – and presumably without the help of former publisher Team17.

“Like it says in the article, I took a bit of time off Allison Road, went back to work and had a good look at all the stuff that had been done up to that point,” Kesler said in a follow-up post on Facebook. “I started making a few changes to the story, a few scribbles here and there, some layout tests and before I knew it it sort of organically picked up pace. Quite funny how these things go sometimes.

“It almost felt like coming home. Coming home to a place you’ve never really left.”

He continued: “I think the one thing that really blew my mind a bit was how great you guys are. There are a few who’ve literally been following the game since day 1, a lot have joined somewhere along the way, and quite a few kept getting in touch, asking how things are going etc. Even after the cancellation! Amazing, really.”

Allison Road started life on Kickstarter, raising £146,000 before it was picked up by publisher Team17. The game was mysteriously cancelled back in June, however, with its cancellation announced unceremoniously via Facebook. Team17 later said that it had reached a “mutual agreement” with Kesler to “end our collaboration on publishing Allison Road”.

“One thing that I want to point out is that I will give things as much time as they need to be exactly the way they are supposed to be,” Kesler added. “I don’t want to rush this or do it half-arsed and just get it out there to make some money.”

A release date has yet to be announced.
