UPDATE: PlayStation France appears to have got the date wrong: Spotify is available on PS4 right now.

Both free and Premium Spotify users are able to use the app to stream music directly through their console, with the app replacing Sony’s previous Music Unlimited service.

ORIGINAL STORY: Spotify will launch on PS4 on May 30, Sony has revealed.

The streaming service will form part of Sony’s new music platform PlayStation Music, and allow PS4 users to access their Spotify playlists and stream music directly through their console.

Both versions of Spotify – free and Premium – will be available through the app.

The service is also due to arrive on PS3 and Xperia smartphones and tablets, although it isn’t yet clear whether it’ll roll out on the same day. Sony has previously said that PlayStation Music will be available in 41 markets at launch, including the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy.

Sony’s current music platform Music Unlimited is due to close tomorrow, March 29.
