A second batch of Wii U stock will arrive in the UK in mid-December, it has been revealed.
The claim was made by UK retailer GAME, which states that customers who pre-order a Wii U Premium Pack today will be guaranteed a console in time for Christmas.
“Please be aware this preorder does not guarantee a Wii U for launch,” reads a statement on GAME’s website. “The second wave of Wii U stock will be arriving mid-December.”
GAME’s claim of a mid-December replenishment is backed up by ASDA, who states that additional Wii U consoles will be delivered to the supermarket “between 30th November and 15th December”.
It isn’t known whether a third batch of Wii U consoles will be delivered to retailers in time for Christmas, or how much stock will be available to buy off the shelf.
Nintendo has previously promised “regular stock deliveries” of the console in the run-up to Christmas, although admits that day one stock will be “tight”.
If you’ve yet to pre-order a Wii U, however, UK launch partner HMV claims to have channelled extra stock into its Oxford Street store, allowing for those who haven’t yet pre-ordered to purchase one on launch night.
Wii U launches in the UK this Friday, November 30.
