Microsoft made a big deal about getting Metal Gear Solid: Rising on the Xbox 360. The announcement, made during its E3 conference, was big news and for a time it seemed as if the game would be heading only to Microsoft’s console. It wasn’t explicitly stated as an exclusive though, and that generally only means one thing: it’s not.

Konami and Kojima Productions have now clarified exactly what platforms the game is coming to, revealing that’ll it’ll be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

“The Metal Gear Solid series has always pushed the bar with its cinematic visuals and entertaining story line,” commented Martin Schneider, European Marketing Director for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. “Now even more gamers can immerse themselves in the franchise and experience the groundbreaking series as Metal Gear Solid: Rising heads to the platform of their choice.”

Rising will be the first game in the Metal Gear Solid series to launch on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC simultaneously, while also being the first time the series has been on the 360. The focus this time is on Raiden, who last appeared as a playable character in Metal Gear Solid 2. In Metal Gear Solid 4 the character had changed into a cyborg and featured in some of the most spectacular cutscenes the game had to offer.

Metal Gear Solid: Rising is currently without a release date.
