An HD re-release of 2005’s Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks may be on the cards, according to a cryptic Tweet from Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon.
Alongside a picture of a Shaolin Monks game guide, Boon wrote: “Someone put this on my desk. WTF? Do they think we’re doing an HD version to download … um.. or something. 8|”
Shaolin Monks was an action-based adventure game starring Liu Kang and Kung Lao who must battle to prevent Shang Tsung from taking control of Earthrealm. Despite its switch from the classic one-vs-one fighting gameplay the title was mostly well received with a Metacritic of 77-78.
