Sony has released a full list of technical specs for the PlayStation Vita, confirming
that all models of the handheld include 512MB of main memory. This goes against
reports which
suggested the system's main memory had been halved.

It's not, though, and speed makes a huge difference as to how expensive memory is. It cannot be directly compared to the DDR memory one buys for computers.

Would like to know what kind of ram that is as well.

Memory is cheap as hell, no matter what speed it is. It's probably the cheapest thing in the entire unit!

The Vita is massively cheap if you consider it has virtually all the functionality of a smartphone, especially when you compare those prices!
