Beginning this autumn there will be a new way to earn Rewards based on your Achievements, Xbox LIVE Rewards has announced.
A tweet earlier this afternoon said: "We've hit 50,000 followers, which means it's time for an announcement! Coming Fall: a new way to earn Rewards based on your Achievements!"
No further information was given, but given Xbox LIVE Rewards offers users free Microsoft Points for completing set objectives, the suggestion is that gaining Achievements in games will be rewarded with Microsoft Points.

Finally rewarding Achievement junkies would win Microsoft some major brownie points amongst the hardcore gaming crowd.

Ideally for me, Achievements will be linked to MS points, so lots of gaming is rewarded with the possibility of even more gaming. I can envisage something along the lines of Microsoft saying to Ubisoft "Make 400 MS Points available in Watch Dogs for players to collect, and we'll make them publisher specific so those points can only be spent on Ubisoft product on the Marketplace". Good for everyone?
I can envisage problems too, though. Ubisoft already have their own UPlay cross-content publisher exclusive points system.
Maybe Microsoft are thinking of something completely unrelated to MS Points as rewards though, have to wait and see.
