Duke Nukem Forever will incorporate Steamworks, 2K Games has announced. The news comes from community manager Chris Faylor via a post on the official Gearbox forum.
Steamworks brings numerous features with it, but 2K seems most keen to point out that you’ll be able to install a copy of the game even if you lose your disc.
“It means that regardless of where or how you buy Duke Nukem Forever on PC, your purchase will be tied to your Steam account, ensuring that you’ll always be able to install a copy of the game even if you lose your disc,” wrote Faylor.
Responding to a question about DRM usage, Faylor confirmed that Duke will use “Steamworks and only Steamworks”.
Duke Nukem Forever will be released May 6 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
