Update: Sky has released the following statement, denying it will offer the Xbox One as part of a subscription.

“We have no plans to sell Xbox hardware as part of a Sky subscription. We have a longstanding partnership with Microsoft by which we distribute our content via Sky Go and NOW TV on Xbox. We look forward to continuing to work with them as part of our commitment to giving our customers more ways to watch Sky programming in addition to their Sky+ HD box.”

Original story: Microsoft is in talks to bring Sky TV to the Xbox One, sources familiar with the situation have told MCV.

The platform holder is said to be in discussions with the broadcaster to sell the Xbox One console with Sky subscriptions, working as a standalone set-top-box or a companion device to an existing Sky HD box. Importantly, an Xbox One sold with a Sky sub could be offered at a reduced price to consumers.

Microsoft has declined to comment, but with E3 only days away we may not have to wait long for official confirmation of a partnership.
