One of the real plus points for Microsoft with the Xbox 360 has been the success of the Xbox Live Arcade titles, but many a gamer has had to miss out on all the gaming goodness because they lack the broadband connection required to get on Live. The good news is that it’s looking more and more likely that some of the titles from the Live Arcade service will be making their way to retail.

A Rumour about Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged, a collection of Live Arcade titles, has been doing the rounds for a while now, and now Microsoft has added its stance on the idea.

Xbox Live Arcade has quickly become a fast growing obsession within our Xbox gaming community,” a Microsoft spokesperson told IGN. “So, in the effort to extend the Xbox Live Arcade experience to the slice of gamers that may not be able to connect to Xbox Live, we are exploring a retail offering of Xbox Live Arcade games. Once official details including titles, timing and pricing are finalized, we’ll make a public announcement at that time.

It certainly sounds promising. We’ll be sure to keep you posted as and when the situation develops.
