Microsoft has announced that the Xbox 360 was the number one console in the US in March 2011, shifting 433,000 units.
Sales for Microsoft’s console were up 28 per cent year over year, the largest growth of any current generation console on the market.
During the March tracking period four of the Top 10 console games were for Xbox 360: Homefront, Dragon Age II, Crysis 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Microsoft expects the Xbox 360’s momentum to continue throughout 2011 thanks to a diverse catalogue of new games.
No figure for the PS3 has been reported, but we do know that the Wii sold only 290,000 units, the 3DS under 400,000 units and the DS family 460,000 units.
