Rumoured to be called Xenon for the past few months within the industry, Microsoft have apparently made a 180 and decided to call their next gen machine “Xbox 360”. Probably too far away in terms of name from the Xbox brand, the logical step might have been to drop Xenon in favour of the Internet forum favourite, Xbox 2, but sources suggest that Microsoft were concerned that the ‘2’ might have made the machine seem less cutting edge than the PlayStation 3 or the Nintendo Revolution/N5/GameTetrahedron/Whatever.
