With the seemingly successful launch of The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition and Tales of Monkey Island, G4TV asked LucasArts president Darrell Rodriguez what else it had in store in regards to revitalising its classic franchises, in particular the X-Wing and Tie Fighter space combat series.
Rodriguez’s response: “We don’t have any announcements now, but stay tuned. We will soon…..”
G4TV suggests that the number of dots at the end of Rodriguez’s response (the interview was conducted via e-mail) indicates X-Wing and Tie Fighter fans should start to get excited. While a revamped HD remake could be on the cards, we think it seems more likely that the games will end up on Steam alongside a host of other LucasArts classics.
