Windows 8.1 to be revealed June 26

Windows 8.1, the Windows 8 update formally known as Windows Blue, will be formerly revealed on June 26, Microsoft has announced.

The update, which is rumoured to include the missing Start button, will be available to download for free from the Windows Store later in the year.

“Windows 8.1 will help us to deliver the next generation of PCs and tablets with our OEM partners and to deliver the experiences customers – both consumers and businesses alike – need and will just expect moving forward,” said Microsoft.

Microsoft will share more about Windows 8.1 in the coming weeks, with a public preview available for Windows 8 and Windows RT starting June 26.
