Nintendo’s Wii U will launch in the US in time for the frenzied Black Friday shopping bonanza, a GameStop employee source has told GoNintendo.
This means the console will appear in US stores between November 19 and 23.
Nintendo hasn’t confirmed a release date, instead maintaining that the console will be released this holiday season.
However, last week it was reported that the UK launch may be held back until December following manufacturing issues with the Wii U GamePad.
Launching in time for the busiest shopping week in the US calendar seems like a smart move from Nintendo, but it would be going up against what’s sure to be cut priced Xbox 360s and PS3s.
