Nintendo failed to show off the Wii U console during its E3 media briefing, with our first glimpse of the unit coming via officially released shots – and then only from the front.

Well, now you can feast your eyes on shots showing its rear ports and side vents. The vents don’t reveal much, but the rear shows off an HDMI port, along with slots for power, the sensor bar, AV and two USBs. There’s no Ethernet, which is no surprise given the Wii didn’t feature one either.

You’ll find the images over on Inside Games.

Wii U will be released in 2012 and you can find many more images inside our Wii U exposed article.
