A new game in the Command & Conquer series has been accidentally announced by EA. Overnight a Command & Conquer site went live (it was quickly taken offline), and with it came news of a new EA studio focusing on strategy games and a brand new game in the famous RTS series.
Victory Games was revealed on the site, and will be a studio solely focused on the creation of strategy games for the Games label at EA. The first game in production at the studio is an “AAA Command & Conquer game,” according to Victory Games GM Jon Van Caneghem.
There’s not much info Victory was willing to share on the new game, but Caneghem did give a few hints.
“I can tell you it’s a Command & Conquer game for the PC, but we’re not yet at a stage where I can go into any details – we’ll be prepared to make a more formal announcement later in the year,” he said. “We’re not just working on a game, though. Our general focus is on the future of Command & Conquer. That means updating a lot of the core technology to create a stable base for future development, and leveraging that work on this first game.”

Command & Conquer 4 was thought to be the end of the Kane storyline, but anyone who’s finished the 2010 game will know that there is a chance we could see him again. However, there’s a suggestion from Victory Games that this will be a new beginning for the franchise.
