Thimbleweed Park, the old school-esque adventure game from former Lucasarts folks Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick, now has an option to remove ‘annoying in-jokes’ from the game, as reported by Siliconera.
The ‘annoying in-jokes’ are all the gags that make reference to previously released adventure games from Lucasarts, as well as some meta jokes about developers, or the fact characters are in a video game.
This move is understandable in someways as many younger players may not have even been alive when the likes of Maniac Mansion was first out. But, if you are one of the more senior players that enjoy the private jokes, you can leave it turned on. Everyone’s happy.
