Yesterday Failbetter Games launched the Kickstarter for Sunless Skies, sequel to 2015’s Sunless Sea. After only a day the project is funded for just over 150% of its original £100k target.
Like Sunless Sea, Sunless Skies will be part of the Fallen London Universe, derived from Failbetter’s browser game of the same name. It’s steampunky and gothic, so it should be of no surprise that in Sunless Skies you’re the captain of a ‘spacefaring locomotive.’
Sunless Skies will have top down, 2D exploration gameplay similar to Sunless Sea. The Kickstarter video promises you can do things like ‘Speak to storms’ and ‘Murder a sun’. Go big or go home, right?
If you’re interested in ‘a universe steeped in celestial horror and ravaged by Victorian ambition’ coming to PC then you still have 29 days left to offer your own funding.
