Majesco and Starbreeze have announced that they are bringing The Darkness, a popular Top Cow comic, to videogame consoles in 2006. The Darkness refers to the dark magic powers that Jack Estacado, a mob assasin, acquired while on a job. The game will put you in Jack’s shoes and will be released for next-generation consoles, but the exact platforms are yet to be announced.

Majesco president Jesse Sutton was, as you’d expect, excited about the partnership with Starbreeze on this title. He said: “We are excited to have secured Starbreeze, a highly talented and respected team, to develop one of our first titles for the next generation of video game consoles. Combining the top-tier development talent and technology of Starbreeze with the compelling content of Top Cow’s The Darkness comic book series provides a solid foundation for success.”

We’ll bring you more news on The Darkness as soon as we hear more.
