Sony has outlined the new and improved PlayStation Plus offering in Europe. Revealed at the platform-holder’s E3 conference last night, the new package includes an Instant Game Collection of 10 titles available from June 6.
The content will be updated monthly with at least three new free titles coming to the service. At launch members will be able to download the brand-new Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, as well as Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD, Renegade Ops, Chime Super Deluxe, Outland, Darksiders and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine.
Every four weeks Sony will select a PlayStation Plus Game of the Month, highlighting the very best the PlayStation Store has to offer – content which will include new download-only games and full Blu-ray titles.
At launch from June 6 gamers will be able to download PS3 games inFamous 2, MotorStorm Apocalypse and LittleBigPlanet 2.
Smaller, independent developers will also get their spot on PlayStation Plus, with 24 Caret Games’ Retro/Grade being available to subscribers at no cost in the summer.
PS Plus members will also still get access to exclusive offers, discounts and features, such as the cloud saving feature and automatic game update downlaods.
PlayStation Plus still costs £39.99 for a one-year subscription or £11.99 for a 90-day subscription.
While certainly offering great value for money, the service still isn’t available on PS Vita – something that had been rumoured to be announced at E3.
