European gamers waiting for a PlayStation 3 price cut before committing to the new console could be in for a bit of a wait. Sony Corp. president Ryoji Chubachi has told Bloomberg that the company has no plans to lower the price of the PS3 in Europe or Asia “at this point“.

Of course this doesn’t really mean anything. The last time Chubachi denied a price cut was on July 6 when he said there were “no immediate plans” for a US PS3 price drop. Three days later Sony Computer Entertainment America announced a $100 price drop with the 60GB PS3 falling to $499.

In the UK the PlayStation 3 retails for £425 and is bundled with two first-party titles and two Sixaxis controllers.
