Thankfully the movie has some good names on board. The director Christophe Gans has had previous acclaim for his French action/horror epic Brotherhood of the Wolf, and the script has been penned by Roger Avery, best known for directing Killing Zoe and The Rules of Attraction.

Staring in the movie is Radha Mitchell (Pitch Black, Phone Booth and Man on Fire) who plays the role of Rose, a mother searching for her sick daughter. Also staring are Deborah Kara Unger (White Noise and The Hurricane) and Sean Bean (Lord of the Rings). The movie opens stateside on April 21, but a European release has yet to be set.

Silent Hill the movie just might be a movie based on a videogame that turns out to be good. Judging from the trailer the movie certainly seems to have captured the Silent Hill atmosphere perfectly.
