Scribblenauts Unmasked stars DC Comics heroes and villains – hits Wii U, 3DS & PC this autumn

Warner Bros. has announced Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure, a brand new Scribblenauts title heading to Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and PC this autumn.

Developed by series creators 5th Cell, Scribblenauts Unmasked stars a variety of DC Comics heroes and villains, including Batman, Superman, Lex Luthor and The Joker, and sees lead character Maxwell using his magic notebook to thwart the villains’ evil plans.

“Scribblenauts Unmasked includes action-packed missions with fan favorite DC Comics Super Heroes adding to the players’ puzzle solving experience as the beloved Maxwell,” said Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment senior vice president Samantha Ryan.

“Challenges in the game encourage broader player choices all set in well-known locations of the DC Comics universe, interacting in new and inventive ways with a wide range of popular DC Comics characters.”

“Fans of both DC Comics and Scribblenauts can really let their imaginations run wild with the Super Hero Creator in Scribblenauts Unmasked,” said Jeremiah Slaczka, CEO and Creative Director of 5th Cell. “Players will be challenged to craft new and never-before-seen characters such as Wonder Joker or Bane Lantern and use them to solve puzzles or share them with friends.”

Whether the title will make its way over to the UK, however, is yet to be confirmed. So far, a release has only been confirmed for North and South America and Australia.

The previous game in the series – Scribblenauts Unlimited – has yet to hit store shelves in the UK after publisher Nintendo issued a last-minute delay. The publisher has yet to issue an update on the game’s status or explain why the game was delayed.
