While Microsoft was busy letting everyone know about the Xbox 360, some Nintendo Revolution information snuck out. A recent New York Times article revealed a number of new details on the system, most importantly revealing that the console will not be released until sometime in 2006.
The article, which quoted Nintendo of America’s vice president of corporate affairs Perrin Kaplan, went on to discuss the size of the console. The system is said to be the size of three stacked DVD cases and be fully wireless ready. It will also play DVD media. Whether or not the system will be able to play DVD movies is undecided.
While Microsoft are set to display a number of playable Xbox 360 games at E3 next week, Nintendo are believed to be focussing on the GBA and DS, with Revolution games only being on show in video form. However, Nintendo seem keen on letting people know about their next console.
“Showing Revolution this year will be very important to us in terms of making sure that our audience knows that Revolution is real,” said Anka Dolecki, Nintendo of America’s director of public relations in a recent article in the Dallas Morning News.
