Ubisoft is preparing Prince of Persia: Rival Swords for release on the PSP at the end of the year. The second outing for the prince on the PSP is to be an extended version of Prince of Persia: Two Thrones, and will feature exclusive levels and multiplayer modes.

A new versus mode will see the Prince go up against his alter-ego in timed races through levels. As well as being a test of skill and agility, players will be able to activate switches making it harder for their opponent to progress through the level.

The port is being handled by Foundation 9 Entertainment who was also responsible for the previous PSP Prince of Persia, itself a port of Warrior Within. The game is pencilled in for release at the end of 2006 across Europe, but not until 2007 in North America.
